I have two nonfiction books available online. Both are books written for laymen that explain chemistry through stories. The first one on the list is the newest and is published by Macmillan. The second one is the older one, and it is published by Prentice Hall. The links provided below take you to the Amazon page for each book, but I have provided the ISBNs so they can be found anywhere.
21st Century Chemistry is the more recent book. It is very current and includes chapters on renewable energy and sustainability. It is an excellent book for anyone who is curious about science, but has little or no background in math or science. It is especially relevant for people who have an interest in environmental issues and want a gentle introduction to these issues that is grounded in chemistry. 21st Century Chemistry is often praised for its ‘storytelling approach’ and its readability. I recommend it for anyone in high school, college, or older.
